Final Concept!

First I’ll title this place: My Dream City because the construction and inhabitants will be out of the interest of me, myself, and I. The reason for this was that if I make a world of my own, then it better have a nice enough view (At least!)
So here’s the gist:
Picture a town, flooded by sunlight and a blue sky. You hear the seagulls begging for fish from the sailor’s catch. The people are working. In one ear, you hear waves crashing on the shore, and in the other, you hear the prattle of a busy town. The boats are flowing in, the sound of wind hitting the sails, the wood settling, and a captain’s cry for joy upon reaching land once again. The town is always packed. Street performers have come as entertainment for the townsfolk and visitors from all over have come to view the latest exports on the market. The market is the main source of all the rumpus as usual. Near the streets, in the nooks, the pubs, and the bath houses, more people are mingling and drinking. Drinks are sold to men, women having a great time. In the political district, the noise has settled to where you can hear the footsteps of aeronauts and sailors, marching their way uptown. These are people who have devoted their trade to the safety of our town. You hear the armor of soldiers and factory men who wish to claim their week’s pay from the bookkeeping offices. I’d say it is a fair enough walk from the lighthouse to town. I would start from the pier, make my way past the neighboring outposts, walk through the grove where the sunlight glimmers through, down the brick road, and finally arrice at the city gates where guards are awaiting the clearance to let us into town.
Now the city itself is a fine piece of architecture. It is mostly made of puddle iron and granite straight from the quarry. As a market should be, the streets are cobblestone and are wide enough for common folk and vehicle to venture across. Stores hang awnings out above tables to do their outdoor business. A stream flows throughout the city, water brought back from the aqueducts and back to the bay. Bridges are made from granite, bringing both sides of the street together. The city district is mostly metallic. Green houses and pubs, exclusively for the locale. I feel like I am in a garden more than a city. Also the home of our floating airship hangar which is also composed of metal. The architecture in the city is quite the fanciest I’ve ever seen. As for the political district, it is composed of some of our noble metals, but and odd mixture as to not be of worth to salesmen selling the side of some building as a cheap bargain.
The political district stands tall, trustworthy, and living up to its stalwart grace upon all else. Castle structure, stairways spiraling along the walls. The city is filled with metallic archways, outdoor cafes and the main airport of our town. No one really lives there. The market is a complex network of back streets that feed into the main area and take the path of stream flowing through the city. The market shops take multiple forms: tents, rugs, indoor arcades, outdoor flea markets, and your regular, everyday kiosk entrepreneur. Outpost form along the city’s walls as small villages and overnight rooms for travelers. There are two seaports, one that feeds directly into a yard behind the city for travel purposes and some trade, and another exclusively for import/exports and smuggling.
Outside of all this, well from my view, I only see trees on one side, and a massive ocean and horizon on the other. My home is wonderful. Above the market buildings, are where my friends and I sit during the golden hours and watch the sunset. In the city, I enjoy the vine constricting architecture, the watering flasks located through outside the city that serve as constant food for plants. I enjoy a nice evening out in one of the pubs, drinking down a day’s journey. Playing a game of cards, or laying on a couch. The political district is full of haughty-taughty men and women who care only for their status. I go because they inspire me. Seeing proud and civil common people who have noticeably earned their way to gain their status. The city lights show at night. Parties rise below in the market and city districts.
This is a town built for many races. The people in it love diversity as it spurs commerce for the town. It brought them together to form bond held for generation. A bond to never be broken again, even in the face of adversity. Once a noble act of courage, is now a commonplace idea: The strength of men is now the strength for all races. Maintaining the safety of our people is first priority. It is the wish so others may pass on the seeds of happiness sown by those who fought hard to protect. The only thing keeping people apart now are ideals, power, and authority over land.
This is my home, and I’m going to create it. With the help of photographs, lots of concept art, and 3d models, I’ll make the entire thing from the cobble stone streets, to the cathedral bells atop the political district towers. And then I’ll share it with everyone else.

The Trail of Victory

This is a WIP model inspired by my animation, “Old Moldton Case 1: Simon.” The train plays a big role in the story. It is more that just his primary mode of transportation; I think it functions as symbol describing the loneliness of one person in a city, bustling with people going about their everyday walks of life.
I think I’m on to something here with this model. The front car is on its way to becoming very stylistic to the steampunk genre. The locomotive is crude, coal powered, and definitely a great representation of what was premiered nearly a hundred years ago.
I think a train like this would go well with a station to show passengers getting on board or yard to sit in and be with other trains. The object here is to show the scope of the environment.
I believe that’s all until the next model is started.
Personal Aesthetic?

Image of a WIP Boat
The concept modeling is only the beginning of what’s to come. I’m starting with a basic set of concepts and keywords and leaving bread crumbs in journal entries, drawings, and photographs while my subconscious pulls me to a conclusion. (Did I go over your head with that?)
To place this into perspective for you, I’ll express the process in list form:
- Writing ideas in journal
- Inspire these ideas with images
- Illustrate them
- 3D Model
- Reflect and unwind
- Make more models
Now to get right down to what I am looking for as far as “Personal Aesthetic” goes. Read more

I recently added more images to the CG Gallery. Enjoy! I added two new galleries for my fine art work and another for animations and reels.
